Job Title: Architectural Surveyor (Commercial)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Architectural Surveyor to join our design team. This role involves conducting building/site surveys, gathering spatial data, producing precise as-built drawings, and supporting project teams through various phases of the design and construction process. The ideal candidate brings strong field experience, technical drafting skills, and a passion for contributing to impactful commercial architectural projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Surveys & Measurements:

Perform on-site architectural surveys using laser scanners, tape measures and digital tools.

Collect accurate measurements, site conditions, elevations, and other relevant data for commerical buildings.

Identify and document building systems, materials, and construction details.

  • As-Built Documentation:

Produce accurate and detailed commercial as-built drawings in AutoCAD

Maintain well-organized digital survey records for integration with design teams.

  • Data Interpretation & Analysis:

Interpret survey data to create floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models.

Cross-check existing documentation for accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordination & Communication:

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to align field data with project requirements.

Participate in project kick-off meetings and progress reviews as needed.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Support:

Assist with site analysis for zoning, code compliance, and accessibility for commercial buildings

Support permit documentation by providing measured drawings and relevant survey data.

Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial buildings a must.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Surveying, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in architectural or building surveying preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Familiarity with drone mapping, photogrammetry, and GIS tools is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of building systems, construction methods, and material assemblies.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working both independently and in teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites.
