About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. The CFO will play a pivotal role in the organization's transformational expansion, with a focus on strategic financial planning, capital management, and ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the institution. This mission-driven leader will be responsible for all financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, and will work closely with the Board of Directors to align financial strategies with the organization's goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial leadership, particularly in a nonprofit or complex multi-entity environment, and will bring a strategic, collaborative, and innovative approach to the role.
Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 15 years' progressive financial experience, including at least 5-7 years in a senior financial leadership role, is required. The CFO must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or have a similar professional certification, and experience in a not-for-profit organization with a deep understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards is highly valued. The role demands a strategic thinker with expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and ROI analysis, as well as a proven track record in capital project financing and managing large-scale initiatives. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills are essential, as is a passion for the mission of the organization, which is focused on conservation, education, and environmental impact.
