Corporate Trainer - CalAIM Programs (ECM & Community Supports)
Pay Rate: $40.00-$43.00/hr
Position Type: Special Projects - 12-Month W2 Contract
(renewal based on performance and program continuation)
Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM PST, Monday-Friday
Model: Hybrid Field-Forward (onsite trainings, field coaching, and remote content development)
Star Nursing Services is hiring a Corporate Trainer to support statewide training, onboarding, competency development, and workflow standardization across CalAIM Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and Community Supports programs.
This role ensures every Care Manager, Lead Care Manager, Housing Navigator, and field-based team member receives clear, consistent, compliant training aligned with DHCS and Managed Care Plan (MCP) requirements.
This is a high-touch training and curriculum development role supporting multiple counties and internal departments.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and lead onboarding and ongoing training for ECM, Community Supports, and Housing Navigation programs
- Develop standardized training modules for:
- Enhanced Care Management (ECM)
- Community Supports
- Documentation quality, care planning, assessments
- Housing Navigation & Tenancy services
- Appeals & Grievances
- Audits, findings, and CAP (Corrective Action Plan) processes
- Managed Care Plan requirements
- County resource coordination
- Conduct live field coaching and in-person training sessions
- Train staff on EMR documentation standards, workflows, and compliance expectations
- Develop training materials: SOPs, checklists, guides, videos, job aids, practice scenarios
- Monitor staff performance and provide targeted coaching to address gaps
- Partner with ECM and Community Supports leadership to ensure consistent statewide practices
- Support quality assurance audits and training-related corrective actions
- Ensure training aligns with DHCS CalAIM policies and MCP contract requirements
- Maintain training calendars, attendance logs, onboarding schedules, and competency tracking
- Provide ongoing training for new roles, policy updates, and program changes
Field Expectations
- This is a hybrid, field-forward role. You will:
- Conduct in-person training sessions across assigned counties
- Provide field coaching to Housing Navigators, Care Managers, and LCMs
- Attend MCP trainings, provider collaboratives, and onsite partner meetings
- Use remote time for content creation, documentation review, and follow-up
Required Qualifications
- Care/Case Management experience required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in training, staff development, clinical education, or CalAIM program leadership
- Strong knowledge of:
- CalAIM
- Enhanced Care Management (ECM)
- Community Supports (housing & non-housing)
- Medi-Cal managed care requirements
- Experience training on assessments, documentation, care planning, and EMR workflows
- Expertise in developing training materials, presentations, SOPs, job aids, and e-learning content
- Experience supporting audits, findings, and CAP implementations
- Strong communication, public speaking, and group facilitation skills
- Ability to build rapport and support staff across multiple experience levels
- Knowledge of county resources and service systems
- Bilingual preferred, not required
Vaccine Requirements:
- Physical (within the last 30 Days)
- MMR, Varicella, Hep B or Titers- Vaccination
- Covid Fully Vaccinated (or decline)
- Must be able to pass background/ urine drug screen
Transportation Requirements
- Unrestricted active California driver's license
Technology Requirements
- Adobe (PDF editing, forms, signatures)
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems used for CalAIM documentation
Minimum PC Specifications
- 8GB RAM minimum (16GB recommended)
- Intel i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 or better
- Screenshot of computer specs required for interview
Education
- BA/BS preferred in Training & Development, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Human Services, Education, Nursing or related field
- Equivalent experience accepted
