About Us:

The Kouba Gallery, located at the Minnesota Valley Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, is dedicated to showcasing new and emerging artists exploring the human relationship with nature. We feature monthly thematic shows spanning various mediums, including painting, photography, ceramics, and mixed media. Our mission is to inspire, educate, and engage the community through art that celebrates the beauty and complexity of the natural world.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to join our team as a Gallery Marketing Assistant. This volunteer position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in arts marketing while supporting the promotion and outreach efforts of the gallery.

Primary Responsibilities

• Designing unique flyers for each monthly show using Photoshop or another design program.
• Posting flyers and promotional material on social media platforms to increase awareness and attendance.
• Updating the marketing website with information and images for each show to ensure accurate and up-to-date content.
• Collecting pictures from past shows to showcase and promote the gallery's ongoing exhibitions and events.

Qualifications

• No experience required; we welcome individuals with a passion for art and an interest in marketing.
• Proficiency and skill in Photoshop or another design program for creating marketing material.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.

Time Commitment

• The marketing assistant will be expected to dedicate approximately 5 hours per month to fulfill the responsibilities outlined above.
• This position will involve attending monthly open houses and adhering to a monthly production timeline for the delivery and promotion of marketing material.
