Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is hiring a Lab Assistant to join our team at the Bolivar Family Care Center. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long-term care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, rehab therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!

About the department: This fast-paced, rural health clinic (RHC) provides complete family care, including well-baby and well-woman exams,,behavioral health services, immunizations, and same-day appointments. This clinic is recognized by The Compliance Team as an Exemplary Provider®. Exemplary Provider®-accredited status is granted to those healthcare providers who demonstrate outstanding patient care practices and compliance with The Compliance Team’s comprehensive Safety-Honesty-Caring® quality standards.

A typical day includes: Collecting and processing blood samples for the laboratory, completing receptionist and other office tasks, and performing routine and specialized phlebotomy duties and x-ray examinations if trained and assigned.

• Collects specimens utilizing correct equipment and within specified time frames
• Submits specimens with correctly labeled tube and requisition
• Calls, faxes, and / or sends test results to physicians as needed
• Files reports, worksheets, and miscellaneous materials
• Cleans and stocks equipment and supplies as needed

Job Requirements:

• Education: HS diploma
• Experience: One year or more experience preferred
• Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Licensure/Certification: N/A
• Physical: Ability to stand for the majority of the shift with the remaining 10% working at a computer

The position is : PRN days to fill in as needed to cover vacations and other staff absences
