  • Plans, coordinates, implements, evaluates and directs the primary nursing activities and activities to support grant deliverables. Supervises the clinical flow to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency. Performs nursing duties when necessary.
  • Analyzes and evaluates nursing staff utilization and quality of care; develops coordinates, recommends and implements changes as needed
  • Performs quality assurance, quality improvement and analytical assessments to cultivate an environment of accountability, productivity, and high performance that advances the program deliverables and improves clinic flows
  • Coordinates with Clinical Health Services Division Managers to develop and implement clinical and administrative policies and procedures and budgetary requirements related to grants and county budget.
  • Supervises the performance of nursing personnel, advises and counsels staff concerning professional growth, advanced training and education and encourages and coordinates the development of improved clinical and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Verifies, reviews, and/or enters patient medical history and records on patients’ diseases, operations, immunizations, assessment, treatment and other pertinent information in the electronic health record and databases
  • Participates in orientation, training and guidance of nursing staff, new employees, nursing students and the community.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
  • Responsible for in the following functions: nursing, surveillance, infectious disease exposure response, data collection, data analysis, interpretation and reporting, inspection, control measures, education, evaluation, recommendations, performance improvement and evaluating compliance for practices that are associated with infection prevention and control.
  • Provides oversight of all equipment and supplies of all clinics
  • Collaborates with other PHN II who are responsible for programs to ensure clinic staff is performing all required program duties
  • Has working knowledge of all Clinical Health Services programs; Works and engages with all staff to support the personal and professional development of clinic staff.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and State Certified Registered Nurse; or Master’s Degree in Nursing with at least 2 years of nursing experience and one year of leadership experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in public or community health nursing with at least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication, supervisory, and organizational skills; ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Must provide own transportation (and proof of insurance).
  • BLS/CPR certification, Defensive Driving, and HIV/SI Counseling training must be completed within one year of hire date.
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $35.42 - $44.28 hourly based on qualifications
