Assists in developing the global physical security strategy. Leads a team to execute the strategy with an emphasis on protecting Company employees and assets. Job Responsibilities Executes the global security strategy to achieve security risk management goals including: workplace violence prevention, asset protection, physical access control systems, video surveillance, operational risk, and regulatory compliance. Contributes to the strategic objectives of the Global Security team and oversees security-related projects from conception through implementation. Oversees the company's travel risk management program ensuring that proper precautions are taken to protect Company employees and assets. Oversees incident response planning/crisis management and facilitates the investigation of security breaches; assists with legal and disciplinary matters as necessary; ensures timely processing of incident reports and evaluation of reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate investigation; ensures company compliance with applicable laws and regulations; prepare/submit reports and participate in audits for applicable vendors or agencies as required Responsible for the organization’s security technology roadmap, ensuring that security infrastructure investments are adequate in supporting Company objectives. Develops standards and policies worldwide for compliance with government rules, regulations, laws, and treaties regarding security requirements for import and export of products (i.e. CTPAT, CFATS compliance). Oversees the operational security risk assessment program ensuring that security related risks are accurately identified, prioritized and communicated to the business. Develops and delivers security programs and supporting services to mitigate identified operational security risks. Develops close relationships with local law enforcement and international counterparts to include in-country security and international security agencies, intelligence, and private sector counterparts worldwide. Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching, and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management, department budget Performs other duties as assigned Job Skills Requirements Thorough knowledge and understanding of US and exposure to global physical security administration/operations and all applicable legal and regulatory compliance requirements Demonstrated ability to manage and conduct variety of investigations/investigative interviews along with ability to exercise sound judgment, critical decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills to provide direction, identify and resolve issues Strong communication, facilitation and presentation and training skills to communicate with the law enforcement community and other security related agencies as well as a diverse group of employees and vendors Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and their performance Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location Education Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field, or equivalent education and experience Experience Requirements Minimum 7 years experience with major law enforcement, intelligence, public service or private sector security organization, with 3 years supervisory experience Must have demonstrated experience and exposure in the global security arena Prior experience or exposure to security operations in a manufacturing setting and/or multiple facilities strongly preferred Physical & Environmental Requirements Briggs & Stratton is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
